- Making Movies That Have Heart -

Why

I love movies. Watching them on the big screen, as they are intended. Surrounded by others who are experiencing the story, the characters, the emotions. Learning the back stories. The art and science of the craft. Watching the award shows. Getting inspired by the people who make them. Movies speak to me. So, I decided to learn how to make them, too.

My name is Alexander Persidis, I am a high-school sophomore and a movie-loving filmmaker.

Based on real life events I have experienced in high school, this documentary is about friendships between high schoolers that are lost or altered because of different political views in today's toxic environment.

About

During Covid, like so many others, I missed my friends. So I figured out a way we could safely be together. I thought, let's make a movie. I wrote a script, got my parents to buy a green screen and some props and together with four families, we went to a park.

We filmed for the entire day, and I was in heaven. We captured enough footage to make a seven minute film with seven and a half minutes of bloopers. Together, with my family and friends, I had made my first movie. The next year, I made an hour long sequel and I am currently editing the final film in the trilogy, the ninety minute "The Elsina Solution", that you see above. This is just the beginning of my journey and I am so excited to be on it.

Telling stories

The stories I like to tell have heart, courage, inspiration. I like ones inspired by historic events that I can then shape. But not only. This is just my beginning. I really look forward to learning as much as I can and meeting and working with the amazing people in this industry.
